Huawei Launches Futuristic Honor Magic Smartphone With Artificial Intelligence Features

Huawei has launched today its latest Honor Magic smartphone in China. The USP of this phone is its 3D glass curved design and artificial intelligence features which makes it a futuristic phone.

The Honor Magic incorporates intelligent sensor and recognition technology. It comes with the WiseScreen sensor which enable users to unlock their phone by simply picking up and looking at the screen. The display of this phone will automatically turn off and the screen will lock when the user will put down the phone or in a pocket. It also comes with the FaceCode intelligent recognition feature which will reveal message notifications to the pre-registered face only for added security. This phone also has fingerprint scanner integrated on the home button which also performs the functions of navigation keys.

With the help of Magic Live OS, this phone anticipates user’s needs and offers host of predictive information. For instance, when ordering a cab with this phone, it will trigger the driver’s license plate number to be displayed on the screen, as claimed by the company.

On the specifications front, this phone features a 5.09-inch (1440×2560 pixels) Quad HD 2K AMOLED curved display. This phone is powered by the company’s in-house Octa-Core Kirin 950 (2.3GHz 4 x A72 + 1.8GHz 4 x A53) 16nm processor with Mali T880-MP4 GPU combined with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

On the imaging front, this phone is mounted with 12MP dual rear cameras with dual-tone LED flash and f/2.2 aperture which was available on Honor 8 also. It also houses an 8MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture.

The Honor Magic runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Honor UI on it. This phone comes with Dual SIM support. It gets its juice from 2900mAh battery with Huawei Magic Power, a proprietary speed charging technology, which according to Huawei recharges 70% of the battery in 20 minutes, and 40% in 10 minutes, and this claims if found true would beat Dash Charging technology available on OnePlus 3.

This phone also offers connectivity options of 4G LTE, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS etc. It has dimensions of 146.1×69.9×7.8mm and its weight is 145 grams.

In China, this phone is priced 3699 yuan which works out to approximately Rs. 36,000 in Indian currency. This phone is expected to be laucnhed in India in the month of January,2017.
