Seems you are new to wordpress ! There is nothing wrong with that message.
The backing up message it shows is for your own good !!
You should always backup your wordpress blog before updating to new versions ( as in your case )

Yeah! Recently Observed This Upgrade Message which was popping in my wordpress Dashboard! It Asked Me For Baking Up The Database and other files! I din Do! Is There any Problem???
